Indexing Scanned PDF Files

X1 can index PDF files that contain text. Scanned PDF files must be converted to text (using OCR software or the built-in Adobe Acrobat text converter) before X1 can index the contents. 

Please note: There is a known limitation when using the OmniPage scan option, "PDF with image on text (*.pdf)". X1 is able to index and perform searches against these PDF's but will display a red "X" in the X1 preview pane.
